The Village that Class 3 Built.
In Science this half term we have been learning to about different materials and their uses, this has been combined with DT to create our very own village. The children had to research different materials used for houses and different types of building. We also experimented with different joins to find which was the strongest way to join two materials together. They then used this knowledge to design and make their own buildings. They had to turn their boxes inside out and decide how to add different features on to their buildings. Children were shown how to create opening doors and the children then chose if they wanted to use that skill or not. The buildings they created were fully independent and I think they did an amazing job!
