Class 5
Welcome to Class 5!
Miss Greasley is the teacher in Class 5 on Monday and Tuesday and Mrs Bloom on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Our Year 2 teaching assistants are Mrs Smith, Mrs O'Hare, Mrs Knapczyk and Mrs George. We also work closely with Miss Gossington who teaches Class 6 too!
Summer 2 2022
This half term our topic is Fire, Fire! We will be learning all about The Great Fire of London. We will also be learning about materials and exploring how materials can be changed by heating and burning. It is going to be a busy final term for the children in Year 2 with lots of time planned in to help them with their transition to Year 3 in September, and of course lots of celebrations of how brilliant they have been whilst with us Phoenix!

What an amazing time we had at our Year 2 Leaver's party! Sports, water play, disco, hot dogs, cupcakes, campfire and biscuits!!
Today we were very busy making our own Tudor houses using cardboard boxes, strips of black paper and straw. Check out the photos below!
We had a fantastic visit from the Fire Brigade this morning to teach us all about how to stay safe around fire and what to do to prevent fires!

This half term our topic is 'Up, Up and Away!' It is a history focused topic where we will be learning about some significant people and the impact they have had on the lives we live today. We had a fantastic time on our trip to East Midlands Airport and the Aeropark yesterday! The children were so well behaved and really did Phoenix proud!

Well done to Class 5 for winning the stars last week! As a treat they voted to come to school in non uniform for the day and have a disco party too! We had great fun dancing in the hall this afternoon!
