About Foundation One
2014
Phoenix takes children from 3 years of age for either 5 morning sessions (8.40 - 11.40) or 5 afternoon sessions (12.30 - 3.30) per week.
We have 3 groups, butterflies, caterpillars and ladybirds. When we arrive at nursery we find our name card in the entrance and take it to our group area where we meet with our friends and our key worker.
Foundation One is housed in the bungalow next to the main school. We have our own playground and garden and lots of exciting spaces inside.
We love to explore all areas of the nursery. We can choose learn inside or outside during most of our session each day. Inside we have a creative workshop, a construction area, a book corner, a space drawing and writing, a role play area and lots more! We learn about lots of wonderful things and gain new skills everyday. We love our smartboard and computer and like to take part in lots of creative activities as well as play in the sand and water.
Both inside and outside the play based curriculum is planned to help the children develop in all areas of learning. Some of us enjoy spending more time outside than inside. We love to develop our physical skills through climbing, balancing, crawling, running, jumping, hopping, riding scooters, bicycles and trikes, etc around the equipment and outdoor space.
There are so many different things that we do in the Nursery. We firmly believe in having lots of fun, following our interests and learning through play.
