Hello and welcome to Class 3! Mr Farooq is the class teacher and the teaching assistants are Mrs Bowles and Mrs Shepherd. We work with Miss Moretto, Mrs Haywood, Mrs Key and Mrs George who are the adults in Class 4.

We have had an amazing week in year 1, looking at our new story 'Hermelin' in English and working had in maths as well. The children have worked really hard! This week the trophy goes to Theo for some amazing reading, whilst Jasmine gets the manners award for brilliant manners all week. We also have awards for the children working at home. This week it's Imogen from class 3 who gets it for doing some amazing reading of tricky words. Thomas in class 4 gets it for his fantastic work on Seesaw.
Special Assembly 4th December 2020
Brilliant work this work from all children. This week the awards go to Matilda, Jacob and Ava. Well done!

Birthday Party - We loved celebrating children's birthdays. We had squash and snacks and the birthday children got to open their presents. What a lovely time it was!
Culture Week
During Culture Week, we learned about Mexico! We had a go at making our own Mexican flags using tissue paper. We learned that the colours of the Mexican flag represent hope, unity and the heroes of the country.
We learnt the Mexican hat dance during PE. It was a lot of fun!
On Tuesday we tasted Mexican foods! Mrs Shepherd made burritos and a tres leche cake for us to try. We also had a chance to taste some spicy salsa and guacamole. The cake was our favourite!

Science - we went around the classroom and found different objects. We then wrote what material the object was made out of.
Practising one more than a number
English - acting out 'Albert's Discovery'. We had lots of fun with this one!
Maths - Learning about greater than and less than signs with Charlie the Crocodile
English - We found a toy box with old toys in it. We wrote words to describe our favourite toys after playing with them.
Art - learning about primary colours and what colours they make when we mix them.
On Friday (18.9.20) were lucky enough to have a visit from Partake! We got the chance to see toys from the past and new ones too. There were lots of different toys that we got to have a play with.
Our topic in the Autumn term will be toys. Have a look at the Brilliant Beginnings letter which includes a home learning activity that you can complete before September.
Well done to Cadi, Harry and Bobby who have worked so hard this week and have been super learners. Keep it up!

Mrs Harper's Heroes
A huge well done to Sam and Phoebe who are our Harper's heroes for this half term. All the adults are really pleased with the work you have put in and the attitude you have shown towards your learning, along with how helpful you are! Good work and keep it up!
