Foundation Two

Welcome to the most magical place in school!

Foundation 2 is the home of the awesome Class 1 and Class 2. We don’t just learn here, we investigate, explore, create and discover. Every day we have new adventures full of imagination and excitement…did you hear that last year Classes 1 and 2 found a real life dragon’s egg?

After sadly saying goodbye to Mrs Doyle at May half term the Class 1’s teachers are Mrs Maclure and Mrs Bloom and Class 2’s teachers are Ms Young and Mrs Wright. We also have two brilliant teaching assistants, Mrs Bowles and Mrs George, working with both classes. Feel free to come and talk to any member of the team about your child, we are always happy to help. Also keep your eyes on this page to see our amazing learning achievements because in F2 we make learning child’s play!

Trip day!!!!

What a fantastic day we all had at the farm! We saw animals big and small, all different types and colours! We had some fun in the woods including a lovely picnic in there too, the children loved the woods and of course we had a lovely time playing on their very special outside play area and their inside play barn. The children and adults had a great time! Thank you class 1 and 2 for being super all day.

We're going on a worm hunt, we're going to catch a wiggly one, what a beautiful day, we aren't scared!

Today as part of reading "Superworm" we went looking for earth worms. Did you know warm soapy water encourages worms to the surface?! We loved watching the worms move around and some of us even held them! What a great adventure.

A little taste of sports day....

The rain held off and we had a great time competing in sports day. All the adults are very proud of how well the children took part and supported one another! Thank you for everyone who came to cheer them on.

All creatures great and small!

We have found that class 1 and 2 have a really love and interest in animals (they really miss the chicks) from a tiny ladybird to the biggest whale so we have decided to learn about lots of them for the last half term of the year. We will be looking at creatures that live in the sea, on a farm and in the jungle, of course this includes our very exciting trip to the farm. We will be adding photos through the term so watch this space!

Have you heard the news?! Class 1 and 2 are now all part of a Pirates Crew!

Wow what away to kick of the last term for the year! The children have loved learning about pirates and training to be on a their crew! From making treasure maps to creating pirates maps to writing messages in bottles we have had a blast.

Science!!!! (and others)

We have loved looking after plants. We have been looking closely at all different plants and all their different elements! Also check out our amazing building!

Book Week - March 2019 - Book Picnic

Book Week - March 2019 We had a lovely time when our grown ups came in to read to us!

Once Upon A Time…

So far this term we have enjoyed “The Three Little Pigs”, “Little Red Riding Hood” and “The Three Billy Goats Gruff”. Classes 1 and 2 have really enjoyed learning about these stories, especially building the goats a new bridge (that doesn’t have a troll living under it.) Take a look at what we have been doing.

Our Treat!

Today class 1 and 2 had their treat today after both winning the stars last week. We all went on the adventure playground. We had a great time climbing, rolling and swinging. It was definitely worth all our hard work to win the stars.

Culture week!

We have been learning all about India. We had a wonderful time reading stories from India, making dancing sticks, learning about their famous buildings and dancing to Bollywood music. Take a look...

A little trip out!

Class 1 and 2 had a wonderful adventure to the Post office. We had written our friends invitations to a party at school and decided we needed to go and buy stamps and post them. It is always great to receive a letter through the letter box! We had a great time!
