Spring Term 2023

World Book Day 2023 Year 2 enjoyed a great day looking at the books Where’s Wally? We wrote some sentences about 1 of the pictures. We spent some time looking in the different books to find Wally. We then worked to create our own Where’s Wally picture. In the afternoon we also joined the other classes in school for a book picnic.

Class 3 had a great time on World Book Day. We wrote about our favourite book characters and did some Roald Dahl themed maths. In the afternoon we designed our own bookmarks and had a book picnic with other classes.

F2 had a great day on World Book day. We dressed as our favourite book characters, had a book picnic in the hall and made fruit kebabs from the story "The Hungry Caterpillar".

Autumn Term 2022

Class 5 took part in some drama today as part of our English work focusing on the story Bog Baby by Jeanie Willis. We were imagining we were discovering an imaginary creature somewhere and we are going to use our ideas to help us with our story writing.

Class 5 have been learning the poem 'Down Behind the Dustbin' by Michael Rosen off by heart today. We made up actions to help us remember the different verses!

Class 6 starting poetry week off by working with a partner to answer some true or false questions about a poem called London Zoo. We then had a discussion about the poem to share any of our likes and dislikes. It was a popular one because we like animals and the silly sentences too 🤣

Class 5 have written some fantastic setting descriptions based on our book this half term 'The Night Gardener' by The Fann Brothers. We tried really hard to use interesting adjectives and adverbs to describe one of the illustrations shown in the book.

Class 6 display for our book A River by Marc Martin. Some great circular stories using capital letters , full stops and fabulous vocabulary.

Class 6 had a great drama 🎭 morning with the theatre company Perform. The children worked together to tell the story of The Sword in the stone ⚔️
