Christmas is coming!

We are excitedly preparing for Christmas in Class 6! We are having a great time practicing for our Christmas Performance which we will be showing in a few weeks time.

We also won the stars in Special Assembly last week and, as our treat, we chose to make Christmas decorations for the classroom and listen to Christmas music. We all had so much fun! Take a look.............

We have been learning all about the Jewish festival of Hannukah. We learnt all about what it is like in a Synagogue and looked at lots of different artefacts. We played games with a dreidel and made Menorahs.  We also made Hannukah cards to send.
Class 6 have also been learning about Advent.  We learned all about what Advent is and Christian people do when it is Advent. We did some fantastic writing to explain it all.  We've got an Advent Calendar in our classroom which is helping us countdown to Christmas (which we are very excited about!) and we also did some art work around Advent.  We used clay to make Advent Wreaths, decorated them and put in the 4 candles that mean joy, hope, love and peace.
In Literacy, we have been reading the story of 'The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch'.  We made story maps of the story and worked really hard to write the story in our own words.  We also had lots of fun making a big lighthouse and seagulls to fly around the classroom.  Have a look...............
