Welcome to Foundation 2

Here at Phoenix Infant and Nursery School we offer a curriculum rich in wonder and memorable experiences. We work hard to provide a stimulating environment that provides exciting opportunities, promotes challenge, exploration, adventure and a real love of learning.

It is our intent that all children develop physically, verbally, cognitively and emotionally in an environment which values all cultures, communities and people. We aim for our children to be confident and independent, to believe in themselves and interact positively with others.
We understand that play is an integral part of learning and this is at the heart of our early years curriculum. We believe that the correct mix of adult directed and uninterrupted child-initiated play ensures the best outcomes for pupils.
Warm and positive relationships between staff and children, consistent routines and strong relationships with parents are key.
We recognise the crucial role that early year’s education has to play in providing firm foundations upon which the rest of a child’s education is successfully based.

Autumn 1

This half term we will be learning about each other and celebrating being unique through our learning theme 'This is Me'.

Keep an eye on Tapestry for our Weekly Updates about what is happening in F2

For our Brilliant Beginning could you please create a This is Me box and bring this along during week beginning 12th September. We are really looking forward to seeing them :)

Autumn 2

This half term our learning theme is 'Twinkle Twinkle' We will be learning all about Space, bonfire night and different celebrations. We are also having a special Author themed week to celebrate everything 'Julia Donaldson'.

Spring

Our learning theme this half term is 'What makes a superhero super?' Our focus story is Juniper Jupiter and we will also be learning about real life superheroes. Our curiculum map shows what we are learning. Don't forget to keep an eye on Tapestry for our weekly memos and more photos.
