Following the announcement from Buckingham Palace of the death of our sovereign, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, a period of National Mourning has started and will continue until the end of the State Funeral. This is a period of time for reflection in response to the death of the Sovereign and a time for us to give thanks for her life of faithful service, loyalty and dedication.
The official date of the State Funeral is Monday 19 September 2022. This day will be a bank holiday and Phoenix Infant and Nursery School will be closed on this day as a mark of respect. School will reopen on Tuesday 20th September as normal. Our thoughts remain with the King and his family as they grieve.
Learning packs are now in the car park area. As part of your daily exercise come along and collect a pack anytime this week. The packs will be out until the end of the day on Friday 8th.
The tables are placed starting with Year 2 and then work down the car park to F1 and F2. Please write your child's name on the appropriate class list. Please take the pen that you use - there is also a pencil for all children. I will add an electronic version onto the Class page later today. If you need a hard copy and cannot get in due to self isolation or shielding then please email office@phoenix.notts.sch.uk and we will get one to you.
Please remember to maintain social distancing at all times -make sure we stay safe.
Have a great week!

Author Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler have joined forces to reimagine the beloved children's stories to help youngsters adjust to living through lockdown.
The pair have brought to life a series of images detailing the Gruffalo, Stick Man, The Smeds and The Smoos and Zog all observing social distancing measures, and showing how they are all coping.
The twelve new stories are a lighthearted attempt at helping parents explain to children all the different rules that are now in place to prevent the spread of the deadly virus. Take a look here
Donaldson is also hosting live video sessions at 4pm every Thursday on The Gruffalo's Facebook page.
( see below for Stanley demonstrating social distancing too)
