This year's theme is Our Diverse Planet!



The week started with an assembly exploring what a scientist is as well as exploring the theme. Mrs Harper demonstrated the Elephants Toothpaste science experiment. Take a look at the picture below!

In FS2 we have been learning about growth and change. We have grown cress seed to create hair for the troll.

In FS2 we have been exploring floating and sinking and experimenting with different materials to help the three billy goats cross the river safely.

Year 2 have been learning about the importance of having a balanced diet. We designed and made pasta salads using a variety of food groups.

Class 4 went on a hunt around school to find signs of Autumn. We made a collage of things we collected and cut out photographs of Autumn

Year 2 have been learning about fire and how this can change materials.We investigated this using paper, wood, metal ,fabric and plastic. The following day we had a look at the materials to observe how they had changed.

Year 2 were set a challenge to build a house. We have been learning about materials and what houses are made from. We know that materials are used because of their suitability. We had jelly, lolly sticks , pipe cleaners, blocks and paper to build our houses with. We worked in small groups and showed great team work.
