Religious Education

At Phoenix we follow the agreed RE syllabus for Nottinghamshire and using this agreed syllabus we enable our pupils to discover more about religion as well as other world views as we assist them to apply their learning to a range of topics. Our pupils are encouraged to express their ideas and insights into key questions which face all human beings as we travel through life. By following the agreed syllabus, RE will also contribute to a whole range of school priorities. Study of religious and world views will also promote spiritual, cultural, social and moral development and will support pupils' understanding of British Values such as acceptance and respect for others who hold different world views.

In RE class 6 have been learning all about a synagogue. We couldn’t go and visit one so we watched a video virtually. We know that the ladies and men sit separately inside. Today we spoke about special clothing and times we have worm these. We know that men wear a shawl and a kippah. Take a look at us making a kippah. We decorated these with Jewish symbols.

This is our RE display in Class 6. We have been learning all about the different stories that Jesus told. We have learned about 'The Good Samaritan', The Lost Sheep', 'The Lost Coin ' , 'The Wise Man and the Foolish Man'.

Have a look at the RE display in Class 5! We have been learning all about the different stories that Jesus told. We have learned about 'The Good Samaritan', 'The Lost Sheep', 'The Lost Coin' and 'The Wise Man and the Foolish Man'.

Year 2 are learning about Jesus and his bible stories. This week class 6 read the story of The Lost Coin. We then went on a hunt round the room to find golden lost coins. We spoke about how it feels when something is lost and then how you feel once it is found.
