Class 6 have been learning all about Egypt. We started the week creating a mind map with what we think we already knew about Egypt. We used maps to find out where Egypt is and made Egyptian flags. We learned an Egyptian story called the Well of Truth about a donkey who is not very honest with his friends. We were set a challenge to work in small teams to make a pyramid. We used a range of materials some that were suitable some that were not. We worked really hard and had great fun. In art this week we made Egyptian collars that were bright and colourful just like they were in the past. We looked at hieroglyphs that were used in the past and we tried writing our own names using this and a message for a friend. We have made some comparisons between England and Egypt. It has been a busy and very fun week and the children have loved all the different activities!
