Our Computing Learning
At Phoenix, we are dedicated to preparing children for a digital world by blending practical technology skills with a deep understanding of online safety.
Early Years Foundation Stage
In the Early Years, children begin their digital journey through carefully planned, hands-on provision. We informally introduce them to Chromebooks and Purple Mash software, allowing them to explore technology safely, build confidence, and learn through play.
Key Stage 1
As children move into Key Stage 1, they take part in discrete Computing lessons using our dedicated class sets of Chromebooks. Following the structured Purple Mash Scheme of Work, pupils develop essential skills in coding, digital literacy, and creative technology.
Beyond these dedicated lessons, our teachers work hard to weave meaningful cross-curricular links into other subjects. This ensures children have a wide range of inspiring opportunities to explore, apply, and enhance their technology skills across the whole curriculum.

Online Safety
Online safety sits at the very heart of our computing curriculum. We treat the safety of our pupils as a top priority. All children participate in regular, dedicated online safety lessons designed to teach them how to navigate the digital world securely, responsibly, and confidently.
