Every classroom has a purposeful writing working wall that follows the Ready Steady Write programme and reflects the sequence of learning for each writing outcome. Learning is carefully structured through the stages of immersion, analysis, planning and writing, providing children with clear guidance and support throughout the writing process. The working wall is used as a valuable reference point, helping children to develop their ideas, improve their spelling and apply appropriate sentence structures. Essential writing resources are clearly labelled and easily accessible in every classroom, including sound mats, tricky words, sentence accuracy checkers and high-frequency words. These resources promote independence, build confidence and enable children to apply their learning and become successful, independent writers.
